A blurb on the He-is-man
Was I the only one utterly shocked that Sam Bradford won the Heisman Trophy Saturday night? I don't know, but I really hedged by bets on Tim Tebow repeating, or Colt McCoy nabbing the award. I mean, really, come on.
I do think Bradford was the best quarterback of the group, and should have a fine career in the NFL. However, all the media flash and glam was behind Tebow and McCoy. "Will Tebow repeat?"
Bradford, meanwhile, was just your average, run of the mill pocket passer. I'm not arguing against Bradford. He deserved it just as much as Tebow or McCoy would have. I'm just a bit surprised that he was able to squeak by the two we all considered the frontrunners. You have to say, though, ESPN wasn't just blowing smoke when they said it was the closest, most suspenseful Heisman ceremony ever... ok, maybe not EVER, but it was really, really good.
"Texas was snubbed!"
"Tebow is a great leader. Listen to The Speech!"
"McCoy led his team in passing, and rushing!"
