Depth chart by eligibility
With less than two months until the Blue White Game, we should keep an eye on Penn State's eligibility depth going into the spring workouts. The current junior and senior classes are a bit thin, even if they include some dynamite talent. This bodes well for Penn State over the next three seasons, as it will give the younger players more experience by being higher in the two-deep depth chart. Add in the monster-sized 2009 recruiting class, and there's plenty to go around (and plenty more to redshirt this season). So here is the current Penn State football eligibility chart:
Notes: I did not include the incoming freshman class, except for the four grayshirts (Newsome, Howle, Hodges and Fera). The rest of the class will go into the chart once they arrive on campus this summer. For some of the more generic positions, like offensive line and defensive back, I just put some of the guys in places to hold a spot. I'm going by the official roster, where some of the players are simply listed as "OL" instead of a more specific spot like "T" or "G." All players listed on the official roster are accounted for.

Great chart. Is there a downloadable version of this?
Sadly enough, no. But it's a good idea. I might look into making .pdf files for these kinds of things.
But right now, sorry.
It seems you missed a certain Sean Lee. He might contribute, at least a little.
You right! Made the fix. When I printed the official .pdf roster, the printer cut off Lee and Sean Luchnick. I used the numerical roster, and Lee and Luchnick are No.'s 45 and 46 at the bottom of the first page.
Thanks.
How's that for a follow up! Go ahead and download it... let me know what you think.
This will definitely be a part of ZN from now on... Thanks again for the great suggestion, Kevin.
