Greatest Games begs this question

The Big Ten Network announced that it's third season of The Big Ten's Greatest Games will debut on Sept. 1, with the airing of the 1989 Holiday Bowl shootout between Penn State and BYU. Not a bad way to kick off the season, but it makes me wonder: are they really the "Big Ten's" greatest games, when the game was played between two non-Big Ten members?

Here's the run down for all four episodes featuring Penn State ths season:

September 1
Dec. 29, 1989 – Holiday Bowl – #18 Penn State 50, #19 BYU 39

September 22
Oct. 12, 1985 – State College, Pa. – #8 Penn State 19, #10 Alabama 17

September 29
Nov. 27, 1993 – East Lansing, Mich. – #14 Penn State 38, #25 Michigan State 37

October 27
Jan. 3, 2006 – Orange Bowl – #3 Penn State 26, #22 Florida State 23
Two of those (HALF!) were played before Penn State was invited to play in the Big Ten conference. I'm sure there are plenty of other really great Penn State games, but ones played after 1993.

I know, this is being a bit picky. It's always fun to see old Penn State games. But I can't really figure out why it bugs me that these games are being billed as the Big Ten's own.

In scores of other games...

First Look '09: Michigan State Spartans is delayed right now. Most likely it will be posted sometime tonight; so bear with me on that.

Also, get ready for some top 25 action. I'll have the first rankings up on Sunday afternoon.

Also also, for those of you XBOX 360'ers out there, I plan to upload my revised PSU roster tonight. It's pretty much as accurate as possible, in terms of active players. It was based off of DKrause1971's roster over at Operation Sports Arena.

I'm going to upload my roster to my EA Locker... my username is ZombieNationPSU (original, I know)... feel free to add me as a friend, too! See you all on the field.

The most reliable roster you can trust is from gamertag "pastapadre". I downloaded it and have had no problems with the game on my 360.
