Boone earns Big Ten POW
Penn State punter Jeremy Boone was awarded co-Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week, for his performance at Illinois this past Saturday.
Boone punted four times, averaging 49.5 yards per boot, with a net average gain of 43.5 yards. Two punts were downed inside the five yard line, one rolling dead at the three and the other stopped at the one. Boone's play was instrumental in putting a damper on the potent Illini offense, forcing Juice Williams & Co. to drive the full length of the field.
Two of Boones punts traveled more than 60 yards. This was his first career player-of-the-week honor.
