Notes: I'm still convinced that if Alabama and Florida met right now, the Tide would win. Texas looked disinterested and lazy for more than a half against Colorado. The Gators weren't very good in the win over LSU, but it was a tough place to play. The Tigers' offense was exposed, even if Florida's defense is the best around. I was very disappointed in Auburn, which had a terrible loss to unranked Arkansas. That really helped Bama's prospects in the SEC West. In the Big Ten, Iowa did what it needed to do against Michigan. But as if on cue, the Hawks made us sweat to the very end. Other than the Longhorns, I believe Nebraska and its resurgent "Blackshirts" might be the best team in the Big XII. Next week is a big week, with the Red River Shootout, Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech, and Bama vs South Carolina.
