We love you too, Dave Revsine
The Big Ten Network is doing its best to say to the rest of the conference, "Hey, c'mon guys, let PSU play with you already." They know it's good money if PSU feels loved, and right now, it seems to be working. In Dave Revsine's blog today, he reviewed his trip to State College, where he had a chat with Paterno, went out to eat with Ed DeChellis, and absolutely gushed about the Lions.
"I leave very impressed with the Nittany Lions. While there is obviously a QB battle, I don't think there's any wrong choice here... The rest of the offense looks awfully good as well - great line, outstanding receivers, and two very good backs. They're going to be very difficult to stop."
I'll take that kind of review any day of the week. He went on to say the the defense, even without Lee, will be just fine. He chalked that up to the defensive coaches. Smart man. But then he goes into Joe Paterno. "This is the second time I've gotten to see Penn State practice and both times I've come away amazed with how involved Joe Paterno is. I think people who haven't seen him work probably assume that, at his age, he's off to the side or up in the tower, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He is moving from group to group the entire time, barking out orders, pulling kids aside for individual instruction. It's really quite remarkable."
You see? If the national sports writers and MSM would actually take the time to go visit PSU--not under a cloak of secrecy, with no intention of performing any semblance of real journalism--they would realize that the program is just fine, Joe is not senile, and this team is freakishly similar to the 2005 squad.
